The 2024–2025 church year was a time of meaningful growth, renewed energy, and strengthened connection at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Meriden. As we prepare for our Annual Meeting, here are some key highlights from this year’s Annual Report that reflect the dedication, creativity, and commitment of our members, leadership, and wider community:
Leadership & Governance: The Board updated policies, improved operations, and proposed calling Rev. Tony as settled minister. A new Committee on Ministry now coordinates non-governance areas like worship, social justice, and pastoral care.
Minister’s Work: Rev. Tony led growth in membership, tech upgrades, fundraisers, and partnerships. He supported LGBTQ+ and immigrant justice and will begin a sabbatical in June.
Membership: Welcomed 7 new members. Attendance is rising. Focus areas include follow-up with visitors and planning more social events.
Building & Property: Major drainage work completed; security grant-funded upgrades underway. Porch, roof, and other long-term needs identified.
Social Justice: Prioritized LGBTQ+ and immigrant rights; partnered with Meriden Pride, supported local and interfaith justice efforts.
Fundraising & Finance: Raised nearly $14,000 through events. Pledges totaled $91,984. A budget surplus was reported. Mortgage will be paid off by August 2025.
Worship & Tech: Offered 53 services. Tech upgrades improved hybrid worship. A $5,000 Faithify grant funded new equipment.
